After the Rain

This post seems very appropriate for a rainy day like today....

I think my parents will enjoy these photos of their own beautiful yard and the little wildlife Michael, Laura, and I found in it while visiting a while ago. :) Enjoy!

Fun Weekend

Told ya' I'd snag some photos from my friends blog to share from Friday night when we went out. ;)

Lauren loves drag queens. Ha ha. :)

Angel, Levi, and Lauren.

These pictures are pretty funny. They make me smile.

Last night, we ended up having a kind of impromptu party. It was nothing to extravagant but I think everyone had fun.

I got to see a lot of my very good, old friends.
Kelsey and Will drove up from West Virginia last minute. I'm really glad they made the decision to make the trip up. I'm so glad to have a friend like Kelsey. Her visits are always a pleasant reminder of how awesome it feels to have a best friend. I wish I could see her like every day, seriously.
Jenn actually made an appearance, too. I'm glad she did so for a little bit. It's been forever. Kelsey and I nag her about hanging out with the two of us but it's not often the three of us are together all at once anymore. It seems like it gets harder and harder to round everyone up all at once, but when we do, it is extra special.
Paul and his girlfriend were here for quite while. It was nice seeing Paul. We got into an intense game of Tetris. It was fun making fun of Paul, like old times. Plus, I really like his girlfriend, Laura, too. I hope we get to hang out more often. Paul is going to be 21 on Friday! I can't believeeeee it. All my friends are like growing up. I remember when we were all like 16. It's cute and scary at the same time!
Of course, Corpsey was here and my old friend from high school, Dave, even stopped by.

I got to sleep in an awful lot this morning. Laura and I got to have breakfast together and pretend like she lived here still. :)
As of now, Michael is hanging out with Jeff. I'm spending some time relaxing and watching Mad Men. Only 10 episodes left! Later, Michael and I are going to head up to Connellsville to see some of our friends.

I'm having a pretty fun weekend. I wish every weekend could be full of friends like this one. It's kind of silly, but it makes me feel kind of giddy inside to have 'new' friends again. I can't get enough of them. It's good to keep in touch and have the old friends near again, too.

Littlest Pet Shop

I recently surpassed the 50 critter mark. I must be a little crazy, huh?

Also, I really wanted to share this "vintage" Littlest Pet Shop commercial. What is considered vintage anyway? It was recorded in 1993! I was just a little preschooler. Those little animals bring back such clear, crisp memories!  I totally had some of those. Actually, the little hamster set is near my bedside right now! I was a collector even before I knew it... ;)

I had such a fun night out last night with friends! I'll have to wait for my friends to post some photos on their blogs so I can snag 'em and post 'em!

Michael is off all weekend, as well, so we got to sleep in pretty late today! Didn't get to bed till especially late anyway, so it felt really good! When we woke up, I  made a lovely breakfast for us. I've only been up a little over an hour but I'm having a good day so far! Hope everyone else has a great Saturday! I think I am just pumped to have Monday off! Nice, long holiday weekend!

Red Velvet: Autumn 2011

First of all, I'm not at all into fashion and you really couldn't catch me dead in a dress. However, you know I follow a lot of bloga almost religiously these days. My favorite group of bloggers are definitely The Red Velvet girls. So you know, naturally, I have been following the launch of their Autumn Dress Collection. Now these photos I snagged from over at A Beautiful Mess but I have been watching this come to life for quite some time. I follow the girls on Instagram as well, so I have saw sneak peeks and behind the scenes of everything from Elsie's sketches to Mallory behind the sewing machine. I just think the whole store behind Red Velvet and it's ups and downs and friendships and inspiration is really cute and touching.
Here are some of the Autumn dresses as modeled by Rachel, Emma, and Elsie:

The 2nd look is my favorite. It love the glasses and hair-do. It really does give off Autumn vibes.

The 3rd look is my favorite. You can never go wrong with Docs and leather!

And of course, velvet dresses are mandatory every season.

Such pretty gals. You can click on over to A Beautiful Mess to admire all the hard work these ladies have done.

August in Review

I saw several other bloggers do a little recap of the month. Some are a lot more in depth but mine is pretty simple and to the point. I think it's a great concept and I really enjoyed looking back through old posts and seeing what all I actually accomplished in one months time!

August was spent cramming to get everything just right and ready to start the 2011-2012 school year.

The Littlest Pet Shop Collection has gained a handful of new, cute critters I'm almost ready to share!
The misfortunate situation with my old 55-200mm lens made room in my life for a new lens to love.

I spent time reflecting on the past and remembering good times with young friends who have passed on.

Working on my goal of finding inspiration and passion in my daily life.

Yes, I'm already counting down to Halloween and looking forward to fall very much!

Michael and I went on a several adventures, picking mushrooms and enjoying the outdoors.

We got a new addition to our family... Our little girl, Juniper!

Ichabod celebrated his first Birthday with all of his family!

I decided to keep the Cruiser despite the trouble it's been giving me.

I discovered one of my new favorite spots full of easy photo ops and beauty.

Just a few other things worth mentioning:
New favorite record: David Bowie Live at the Tower Philadelphia
New favorite Netflix addiction: Mad Men
New favorite ITouch apps: Pixlromatic and Bejeweled 2

This month:
- I reached 100 blog posts! Horray!
- Michael got his permit and is in the process of learning to drive and getting a car! Exciting!
- I completed a engagement shoot and already have several other photo jobs lined up!
- I added two new cameras to my camera collection!
- I had my first experience of Uniontown's Italian Fest!
- I spent time with my two new favorite girl friends: Angel and Lauren and my best friend forever, Kelsey.
- Laura got her Saint Sheba tattoo finished! She lives on forever.
- The raccoons are becoming independent and are ready to move into their kennel.
- We added several new records to our collection. I just counted them all today! Guess how many we have!?

Hello, September! I'm curious to find out what you have in store for me..
