Cleveland » Museum of Natural History » Pt. 1
I don't want to say that the Cleveland Museum of Natural History was the highlight of our vacation but it was definitely something I was really looking forward to checking out. I've not really been to many museums before and I'm sure there is a natural history museum or something similar in the Pittsburgh area that may be awesome as well but I saw photos of this particular museum over at The Dainty Squid blog and it looked amazing and I knew it had to have a slot on our agenda. This place was full of all kinds of things that are really intriguing to me: animals, taxidermy, outer space, collections, plants, mushrooms, mythical creatures, live animals, prehistoric creatures, skeletons, and so much more. I had an especially fun time here with Laura. It was nice to be with some one who was equally as childishly excited about all these things. I think we both kind of looked at everything and soaked it in as if we were kids amazed by these concepts for the first time. We did spend a large chunk of our first afternoon in Cleveland here. I seriously could not tell you what my favorite part of the museum was. Luckily, I was able to take photos of almost everything in the museum. Of course, I took a bunch, so I'll post a little each day.

Sunrise, sunset
'Just a couple pictures from my evening. Michael and I had a nice little adventure. I like calling it an adventure. :) Why not celebrate all the tiny, average facets of life?
Any large body of water tends to calm me down and cheer me right up. I truly believe this. Not even large, really.. creeks, streams, ponds, lakes, rivers, oceans. It's all really peaceful and beautiful.
We had a little picnic under a pavilion and then did a little wandering through the woods, mushroom hunting and watched the sun set over the lake. It was lovely.
I am thankful that I am awake to see both the sunrise and sunset almost everyday. I ought to take the time to appreciate this fact more.
Here's a peek. I'll share some photos from Nixon at a later time. Promise! I'm just too tired this evening!
Anyone else pumped that tomorrow is Friday? This week went on forever! Far too many ups and downs. I'm ready to move on this weekend and start fresh next week.

Mushroom huntin' & Ferret fun
Michael and I went mushroom hunting in the woods during a spontaneous visit over my parents house. We also took the ferrets out in the backyard to do some exploring off the leash. There would be more shots but most of them didn't turn out very well because I had the wrong lens with me. Oops! :( Nonetheless, I had at good time. I hope to go mushroom pickin' again. I enjoyed it a lot. You never know what tiny little life is out there until you slow down and look sometimes. The ferrets loved it, too. They were so worn out when we got home and slept so soundly throughout the night. They were up at 7AM this morning wanting to play!
Jeff and Laura are over here visiting. So is Hans and Dolb! I made chicken alfredo for dinner and Michael made piergoies. It was delicious! We bathed our ferrets, Laura cut their nails. It's my turn to clean their ears!
